- Review, enter, compile and print employee data including personnel files, performance reviews, attendance, education records, health and safety information, etc.
- Respond appropriately to inquiries related to employee benefits, payroll and general H.R. issues
- Complete payroll in its entirety for small subsidiary company (20 employees)
- Provide backup / vacation support to the Payroll Administrator on Canadian (475+ employees) and US payroll systems (80+ employees) including being able to complete those
payrolls in their entirety
- Assist the Payroll Administrator in coding and entering attendance data, reconciling payroll registers, year end balancing of accounts and preparation of T4's, T4A's and
W2’s
- Ensure ongoing maintenance, integrity and accuracy of personnel files
- Manage our recruiting process including tracking job openings, working with management staff to develop job postings, receiving and forwarding resumes to appropriate individuals
- Act as company liaison to our service award provider
- Help co-ordinate special projects & meetings
- Create and analyse reports from a variety of sources as requested
- Provide general administrative support to the department as directed
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- High school graduate or related experience
- Minimum of two years experience in an HR & Payroll environment
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Payroll & Accounting or related field an asset
- Knowledge of or experience with Ceridian or other automated payroll system
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other software applications
- Clear understanding of database conventions and reporting tools
- Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- Self starter with excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions
- Comfortable working as both part of a team and independently
- Able to cope in a changing environment and work in a highly confidential setting
- Industry (customs brokerage, logistics, international trade) knowledge and experience an asset

POSITION: Systems Administrator – Intermediate

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working Monday to Friday covering core hours between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm, this individual is primarily responsible for managing and supporting all aspects related to the system
administration of the Windows/Linux server platforms. The successful candidate must be available to work occasional evening and weekend hours and participate in the rotating
after-hours on-call support schedule. Some travel will be required.
DUTIES:
- Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems, monitoring frameworks, firewalls, routers and third party software packages.
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tunes the systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Ensures recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Develops and promotes standard operating procedures; conducts routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards and policies and configuration
guidelines.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
- Logs and responds to all system issues, escalating as appropriate. Takes a proactive approach to minimizing production system outages and problems.
- Provides second level
support to the Helpdesk and performs a variety of other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFCATIONS:
- Community college diploma or university degree in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent on the job experience
- Two to four years experience providing technical support in an IT environment
- Has obtained or is in the process of obtaining appropriate industry certification
- High level of experience and knowledge of the following:
- Windows/Linux Server
- Expert hardware knowledge of all IBM xSeries and Blade Servers and competitors equivalents.
- Experienced in use of IBM Director and Storage Manager tools.
- Experienced in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IBM SAN.
- Microsoft certification - MSCE essential
- Experience using and configuring NT, DNS, WINS, TCP/IP, LDAP, Notes, Terminal Services. VMWare, and Web Server.
- Experienced in Backup Exec software; with a working knowledge
of all server based backup/recovery tools.
- Experienced in NOD32 virus software, with a working knowledge of all server based virus protection tools.
- Experienced with Active Directory structure, configuration and
support.
- Knowledge of Batch Scripting.
- Working knowledge of IBM Websphere and Lotus Domino desirable.
- Good understanding of Network concepts, infrastructure design, e-mail systems.

- Expert knowledge on use of Microsoft Terminal Services product.
- Experience using and configuring Windows Server and Linux in a Terminal Server environment
- Experienced with Lenovo desktop/laptop hardware, TS appliances and Microsoft operating system.
- Experience with HP printer technologies.
- Experience with a broad range of application products (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Client Access, etc.)
