CIFFA / CP Vaughan Terminal Delays
July 31, 2012
Following is an extract from a notice circulated by the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA).
CP has confirmed that:
- They are seeking an injunction to reduce the impacts and delays at Vaughan’s gates.
- Although there are similar delays to Monday’s to get in/out of the gates; the terminal is OPEN and will remain open for business. The entry gate will only close when the safety limit is reached for drivers in the yard. As drivers exit CP will let more drivers in.
- Detention is being managed and customers will not be negatively impacted due to this situation. Storage is also being managed to reduce the impacts to the customers.
- Shipping Line DEM windows are also being adjusted to accommodate the Berlin express and others will be reviewed accordingly.
CIFFA would also like to remind Members that companies dispatching trucks for pick-up and delivery may experience several hours of delay and additional charges may apply for driver waiting time.
At this time we do not know what the duration of the delays will be. We will provide further updates as information becomes available.
