In 2011, there were approximately 178,554 visits to food banks within Windsor-Essex
County. United Way and its partners have been working together to increase the
community’s access to nutritional and culturally appropriate food through the Food Security Network Strategy. In order to strengthen food security in our community, a truck was required to meet the needs of those residing in Windsor and Essex County.
