Farrow donates $22,240 to fifteen charities in North America

Windsor, ON – Farrow continues its annual holiday tradition of donating to local foodbanks. This year, 15 foodbanks across North America, in communities where Farrow has offices, were given a total of $22,240.

“This time of year can be taxing for these types of organizations as they put all their efforts towards helping those in need,” says Rick Farrow, Chairman and CEO. “This is just one of the ways we want to help alleviate the load. Giving back to communities has been an integral part of Farrow since the beginning, and we will continue to help foodbanks with donations and volunteer efforts for many years to come.”

Since 2010, Farrow has donated in excess of $360,000 to foodbanks in December, in those communities where Farrow employees and offices are located. These holiday donations complement the many others made to charities at other times of the year.

One of the largest recipients of these donations is the Windsor Downtown Mission, which has received over $35,000.

“The $35,000 provided by Farrow allowed the Downtown mission to create 11,254 meals for people who need it,” says Ron Dunn, Executive Director of the Windsor Downtown Mission. “However, in 2016 the donation of a delivery van also helped the Downtown Mission rescue $2.5 million dollars’ worth of produce from the county, which was then redistributed to over 44 food distribution agencies in Windsor Essex. This shows that Farrow's gift is far-reaching, as it has literally provided sustenance for tens of thousands of people.”

The fifteen food banks which received the donations were chosen based on feedback from local employees and clients, and are spread throughout North America.
