Why Farrow?

Experienced and Reliable Customs Brokerage Services

The Farrow Group is a diversified group of family-owned businesses that facilitate international trade through comprehensive customs consulting and integrated logistics, including customs brokerage and clearance, freight forwarding, and many other services.
Russell A. Farrow Limited is Canada's largest independently owned customs broker and the 4th largest overall. We're a billion dollar organization handling over one million transactions each year, so we have the knowledge and experience to manage your international customs brokerage and shipping requirements.
We understand the regulatory framework that underlies the import/export of goods across the Canada/U.S. border. We understand the handling and forwarding of shipments of all sizes, from individual parcels to truck loads to air freight and ocean cargo.
Recently, we were selected as one of Canada's "50 Best Managed Companies". This prestigious designation is granted by CIBC Commercial Banking, Deloitte, Queen's University, and The National Post, and we think it speaks to all the factors that make us the right logistics partner for your business.

Experience & Expertise in Integrated Logistics

  • 100 Years in Customs Brokerage. We are Canada's largest independently owned customs broker, with 100 years of experience dealing with logistics and border issues. Being an independent broker gives us - and our customers - huge advantages.
  • Company-Wide Investment in Licensing and Designation. These include the oversight of a deeply committed and personally involved senior management team that is led by the owners. 40% of our employees are licensed customs brokers, or hold a professional industry designation.
  • Technology Driven. We're driven by technology, and we were among the first in the industry to invest in an IBM mainframe computer in the 1960s. We embrace the adoption and application of leading-edge technologies to improve our services, including our move to a digital environment and improved document imaging. We also design state-of-the-art industry software, and we've been recognized for our innovation and development capabilities. For more information on our software solutions, visit our Software & Technologies section in this website.
  • More recently, The Farrow Group is first to market with an online option for carriers who must file ACI eManifest with Canada Customs. Our software solution TradeSmartWeb eManifest, allows carriers to file their data with Canada Border Services Agency electronically. This follows the development of our software solution for the U.S. ACE eManifest requirements of U.S. Customs & Border Protection.

Personal Attention

The Farrow Group has an industry-wide reputation for delivering exceptional customs brokerage service and providing clients, large or small, with outstanding personalized attention.

  • Family Owned and Operated. Even though we're a large business, we act more like a small one. We are still family owned and operated, currently by the third-generation of the Farrow family, with the fourth generation also active in the business today.
  • Employee Retention. Many of our employees have been with us for more than 20 years, reflecting our commitment to identifying and retaining people who complement our "family business" philosophy. These members of our team also enhance the added value of knowledge and stability that remains a hallmark of our service.
  • Dedication to Service. At Russell A. Farrow, you'll have a dedicated day-to-day customs brokerage and/or logistics representative as a single point of contact. But you'll also have direct access to senior management throughout the entire Farrow Group of Companies.
  • Personalized service is not just a slogan, - It's something we take very seriously, and something we pledge to deliver.
